Does the monitoring project select power supply or independent power supply?
Usually after receiving the monitoring installation project, we must first determine how many surveillance cameras, how many wires, how to supply power, how to route, etc. So how many power supplies does the camera need to use in the monitoring project? Today we will talk about the power supply configuration problem.
Nowadays, there are three types of power supply methods: PoE power supply, centralized power supply, and independent power supply.
The front end of the PoE power supply is a network camera. The network cable is connected to the network switch. Because the network camera itself needs power, the traditional camera directly supplies a power cable, and the network cable outputted in the POE power supply switch contains power and signals, so that the terminal is connected. Only one network cable is needed, but the network camera has no POE power receiving function recently, because the camera interface RJ45 interface is connected to the signal board, and all of it is embedded in the POE power receiving module, so that the power supply and signal can be distributed to the corresponding circuit. Centralized power supply A method in which a power supply device is installed in a power room or a weak motor room, and power is uniformly distributed through a communication cable and then supplied to each device. Centralized power supply can control and manage the power supply scheme in a unified manner, and beautify the advantages of integrated wiring. However, there is a defect in the page, that is, the power supply of the configuration needs to be properly, or there will be many troubles.
Independent power supply is generally the proximity of the monitoring equipment to take power, the short cost of the power line will be reduced, but the power line of each camera is not under the same management, so it is not convenient to manage or repair. This is generally used for small-scale monitoring. For example, the four monitoring heads in the store can use independent power supply.
Then the situation that the power supply configuration is required is definitely the case of centralized power supply, because the power supply of the centralized power supply of the surveillance camera is not simply added to the rated power of the camera.
Because the surveillance camera is the same as other electronic devices, the current will increase at the moment of startup, and the current loss in the transmission line. As a result, properly configuring the power supply of the surveillance camera system will become a problem for many young and inexperienced engineers. Some practical solutions will also encounter that the designed power supply capacity is insufficient during the construction phase, and equipment needs to be added, which will increase the engineering cost.
So what should I do?
The industry standard is to add 1.3 times the rated power of the entire surveillance camera. This is the actual power required by the camera. Then, it needs to add about 30% of the loss, and finally add 30% of the margin for future expansion.
For example, the monitoring project of a commercial building contains 100 fixed cameras. Each camera has a rated power of 4W. How do we configure the surveillance camera power supply?
Now according to the previous method, we have found that the rated power of the camera is 4W×100 units and 400W. The actual power required by the surveillance camera is 400W x 1.3 to get 520W. Calculating the loss, the power required for the surveillance camera is 520W × 1.3 to get 676W. Considering the margin, the power supply that the surveillance camera finally needs to be configured is 676W×1.3 to get 878W.
The result is as follows: the power required by the camera = the rated power of the camera × 1.3 × 1.3 × 1.3 (Ready: If the monitoring line is particularly long, increase the power and increase the power supply voltage).
In addition, there are several details to be aware of when configuring the surveillance camera power supply:
1. First, the entire monitoring system cannot be used at the same time. Because the maintenance of the monitoring system occurs, it is necessary to turn the power on and off. When the surveillance camera is started at the same time in the power supply, the starting current will be particularly large, so that the impact on the power supply is particularly large, and the power supply will be seriously burned.
2. Another point to consider is that when all surveillance cameras share the same power supply, in the event of a power failure, the entire monitoring system must be shut down, and the system will be paralyzed. All power supply needs to be coordinated and considered when necessary.
