First, the place where the gas flow sensor is installed

The gas flow sensor should work under the condition that the temperature of the gas to be measured is -20~+60 °C and the relative humidity of the environment is not more than 95%. From the viewpoint of maintenance convenience, it should be installed in a place where it is easy to replace and avoid vibration of piping or stress of piping. Considering the protection of the amplifier, it should be avoided as much as possible by strong thermal radiation and radioactivity. At the same time, it is necessary to avoid the influence of external strong electromagnetic field on the detection coil. If it cannot be avoided, a shield should be added to the amplifier of the gas flow sensor, otherwise the interference will seriously affect the work of the display instrument.

Second, the installation position of the gas flow sensor

The gas flow sensor should be installed horizontally, and the arrow indicating the flow direction on the sensor during installation should match the flow direction of the fluid.

Third, the piping flow point of the gas flow sensor

1. In order to remove the influence of gas eddy current and uneven flow velocity on the measurement, the necessary straight section or rectifier should be placed at the sensor inlet and outlet. Generally, the straight pipe section of the upstream part (inlet) is (15~20)D (D is the nominal diameter of the sensor). The downstream part (the length of the straight pipe at the exit is 2 to 5D), and the straight pipe diameter and the sensor diameter are the same.

2. In order to remove impurities in the fluid, ensure the normal operation of the sensor, and improve the life of the sensor, a filter with a mesh number of 40-80 mesh/cm2 should be installed on the pipeline in front of the gas flow sensor. Under normal circumstances, the number of meshes is large, and the diameter is small. In order to ensure the normal operation of the gas flow sensor, the mesh number of the filter should also be selected according to the actual use.

3. When welding the inlet flange of the gas flow sensor, it must be noted that there is no protruding part in the pipe. When connecting the inlet flange, the outer circumference of the two flanges should be completely matched, and the gasket should not be exposed inside the tube. Eccentric reducers will cause uneven flow distribution and should not be used.

4. In order to ensure the need for maintenance under the working path, the shut-off valve (stop valve) should be placed on the pipeline before and after the gas flow sensor, and the bypass pipe should be set at the same time. The flow control valve should be installed downstream of the sensor. When the sensor is used, the upstream loading valve must be fully open to avoid turbulence in the upstream part of the fluid.

5. When the flow rate of the gas flow sensor is too large (exceeding the upper limit of the flow range), the bearing will accelerate wear due to excessive rotation speed. For this reason, when it is expected that there is excessive flow, the flow control valve disposed in the downstream portion can be used to regulate the fluid flow.

6. When installing the gas flow sensor on the new pipeline, in order to avoid the impurities in the pipeline from entering the sensor, first use an empty pipe instead of the sensor for a period of time to confirm that the impurities have been removed and then replace the sensor.
