According to foreign media reports, the German government has asked the Porsche brand to recall 7,000 Cayenne SUVs that have already been sold, and Porsche has also become the latest Volkswagen Group brand involved in the scandal of diesel vehicles.

German Transport Minister Alexander Dobrindt revealed to Reuters that the German government has evidence that the 22,000 Cayennes equipped with a 3.0-liter diesel engine sold by Porsche used cheating software.

Dobrindt said that he will withdraw the car's certification, and the cost of this recall is entirely borne by the Porsche. In addition, he also said that the Volkswagen Touareg SUV is also likely to have installed similar cheat software. He said: "For Touareg, we have not done any further verification, and we will also take immediate action. The public will also cooperate with our actions. If similar software is detected, appropriate procedures will be taken to handle it." Dobrindt added The car involved is currently still in production.

Porsche stated that it had already discovered the software during its internal investigation and agreed to recall the vehicles involved for repairs.

Dobrindt said that before the software update, the German government will prohibit the registration of vehicles for sale. Currently, 7,000 units have been registered in the 22,000 Cayenne involved in the German market. The models involved in this recall are all equipped with a 3.0-liter TDI V-6 diesel engine. This engine was developed by Audi and is the chief culprit for Audi's investigation in the United States.
