Tata, Jaguar, Land Rover Global Sales Decline by 4% in September The global auto market slumped in September and sales data was tragic. Tata Group’s global sales in September fell 4% year-on-year, while Jaguar Land Rover’s September sales fell 4% year-on-year.

On October 15th, the Indian Tata Group released data that in September this year, the global sales volume was 103,656 units, down 4% year-on-year. The accumulated sales volume of the fiscal year (April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013) in the first two fiscal quarters was 579,037 vehicles, an increase of 8% year-on-year.

Tata, Tata Daewoo and Tata Hispano Carrocera commercial vehicles sold 54,761 vehicles in September, an increase of 3% year-on-year. Accumulated sales for the first two fiscal years of the fiscal year were 283,546 units, an increase of 2% year-on-year.

Tata passenger vehicles sold 48,895 vehicles in September, a year-on-year decrease of 11%. The cumulative sales volume for the fiscal year was 295,491 units, an increase of 14% year-on-year.

In September of this year, Jaguar Land Rover approved sales of 26,461 vehicles, a decrease of 4% from the same period of last year in September 2011. The decline in sales has multiple factors. On the one hand, Jaguar Land Rover is proceeding with model changes. On the other hand, the year-on-year increase of the Jaguar Land Rover has been reduced from 40% in the first half to 13% in August, and the growth momentum has slowed down.

In September, Jaguar’s sales were 2,808 units, and Land Rover was 21,606 units; in the first three quarters, Jaguar’s total sales were 23,653 units, and Land Rover was 139,288 units. Accumulated sales for the current fiscal year were 160,894 units, an increase of 24% year-on-year.
