The Indian state of Indiana has announced new rules for the use, application and preservation of fertilizers. The new rule will take effect on February 16, 2013. Although this rule is mainly applicable to farmers, agricultural retailers are also notified to comply with the requirements of the new rules. The new rules were formulated to keep fertilizer away from waterways. This rule stipulates how the farm fertilizer is safely preserved, how it is used and how far away it is from waterways and wells.
