It is understood that FAW Group will invest RMB 19 billion in R&D on the basis of investing RMB 12.91 billion in the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period. By 2015, China FAW will have more than 4 million units sold, of which the proportion of self-owned brands will exceed 50%. The responsible person of FAW Group stated that in the 12th Five-Year Plan of FAW, electric vehicles have become an important content, and the core technologies of 60 electric vehicles have become key breakthrough targets.

According to reports, in the FAW "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" from 2011 to 2015, the development strategy of new energy vehicles will be to mix passenger cars, strong mixed B-level and above cars, plug-in A-Class sedans and pure electric economy cars. Focusing on commodities, the focus is on breakthroughs in 60 core technologies including power motor systems, electromechanical coupling systems, power battery systems, vehicle control systems, and key components that must be electronicized (brake, air conditioning, steering).

Brilliance Automotive will achieve the goal of “two steps and quadrupling” during the “12th Five-Year Plan” period. In the first phase, we will strive to increase the sales volume of vehicles from 500,000 to 1 million vehicles. In the second phase, by 2015, 2 million vehicles will be produced and sold.

BAIC Group plans to achieve a target of 300 to 3.5 million vehicles for production and sales in 2015. Among them, the production capacity of self-owned brand passenger cars will reach 700,000 units, and it will enter the first camp of independent brand automobile manufacturers. In 2015, it strived to enter the top 15 in the world's auto industry and enter the top 500 in the world.

Great Wall Motor is expected to reach the end of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" - 2015 production capacity will reach 2 million, sales target 1.8 million, of which export business reached 30%.

Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. will continue to increase its independent innovation during the 12th Five-Year Plan Period, continue to stabilize its multi-brand strategy, and launch a brand new brand of new energy vehicles. During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, it will achieve a total vehicle sales of 2 million units per year, and by 2015 it will achieve sales of 50,000 vehicles per year.

According to preliminary calculations, only the top 10 automotive groups in China last year: SAIC, FAW, Dongfeng, Chang'an, BAIC, GAC, Chery, BYD, Brilliance, and Geely, together with JAC and Great Wall Motors, the 12 automobile groups are In the final year of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, the preliminary planned production capacity in 2015 was about 32.5 million.
