In recent years, with the increasingly stringent social requirements for environmental protection, water-based fluorine coatings with good environmental effects and low VOC content have gradually become hot spots for research and development. According to reports, as the quality of raw materials and finished products for water-based fluorine coatings in China continues to stabilise, production capacity is steadily following up, and it is expected to usher in a new opportunity for development. The fluoroolefin segment contained in the water-based fluororesin can produce a synergistic protective effect on the non-fluoroolefin segment; the fluorine coating prepared from such emulsion has good weatherability, stain resistance, durability and elasticity. And the stability of the construction is good, and fully reflects the characteristics of safety and environmental protection. Water-based fluorinated coatings are superior to acrylic paints in weather resistance, and can be used for building exterior walls for at least 10 years. Although the cost is more than 30% higher than acrylic paints, they are based on the long-term weathering effect and reasonable use of resources. Its market prospects are very broad.

However, industry experts also believe that China's water-based fluorine coating technology needs further improvement. If the reasonable control of fluorine content is not perfect, some fluorine emulsion products contain nearly 40% fluorine content, but the construction temperature range is narrow, and the process conditions are more demanding; while some fluorine content is less than 10%, its weather resistance There is no advantage at all. In addition, the preparation process of aqueous fluoropolymers needs further study, and the polymerization process needs to be optimized; some raw materials for the production of fluoropolymers and their coatings, such as fluorocarbon surfactants and fluoroolefin monomers, are expensive. In addition, the lack of industry standards can not be underestimated. After formulating two solvent-based fluorine coating standards for cross-linked fluororesin coatings and hot-melt fluororesin (PVDF) coatings, the Fluor Coatings Special Committee has joined hands with the National Standardization Committee for Coatings and Pigments to initiate the development of water-based fluorocarbon coating industry standards. Formulate work.

Experts also stressed that compared with solvent-based fluorine coatings, water-based fluorine coating weather performance and physical and mechanical properties are not dominant, to promote the field of heavy corrosion has a certain degree of difficulty. Although water-based paints are currently being applied in corrosion protection of steel structures, their effects still require a long inspection period; the development of supporting water-based primers and the optimization of process procedures are also links that water-borne fluorine coatings need to solve in order to enter steel structures.
