Although the survey results revealed many problems, the performance of the hybrid buses operating in some of the demonstration cities was highly evaluated by the inspection team and it was believed that the excellent performance of hybrid buses should be promoted. It is said that a batch of hybrid buses that have operated for more than two years in Zhengzhou, Henan province, not only failed to find any faults, but also had an average fuel saving rate of more than 30% in more than two years compared with traditional buses of the same length.

Based on this, earlier this year, the Ministry of Finance had commissioned some bus companies to draft government procurement standards for energy-saving and new energy buses. It is reported that models entering the government procurement list (catalogue) will enjoy the government's supportive policies regarding independent innovation products, energy conservation products and other government procurement priorities; governments and public agencies at all levels will implement mandatory purchases of energy-saving and new energy vehicles and gradually expand Purchasing scale, the proportion of purchase of new energy vehicles shall not be lower than 10% by 2015, and energy-saving vehicles such as hybrid buses shall not be lower than 50%.
