The methanol synthesis tower is "short and fat" (13 meters long, 167 tons heavy, and 3.4 meters inner diameter) and is made of materials such as 13MnNiMoNbR, 16MnR, 15CrMo, and 20MnMo. It is understood that traditional high-pressure alcohol process can increase methanol production, but due to the high working pressure (commonly 12MPa ~ 32MPa), not only the reactor design and manufacturing difficulties, and the greater resistance between the compressor segments, heat recovery effect is not ideal, Need external heat source. As methanol production increases, energy consumption will also increase. The low-pressure co-alcohol process reduces the operating pressure to 3 MPa, which can increase the monthly production of methanol by more than 300 tons. At the same time, it increases monthly high-grade steam with a value of 1.8 million yuan by-product, and monthly electricity is nearly 80,000 yuan. The monthly comprehensive benefit reaches more than 2.5 million yuan. .

In 2007, the low-pressure co-alcohol process using the DN2400 low-pressure methanol methanol synthesis tower was successfully applied for the first time in Hubei Saning Chemical's 200,000 tons/year ammonia-alcohol system, and achieved considerable benefits. Practice has proved that this process has opened up a new route for methanol production with low energy consumption, investment, and quick results.
