On November 13, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced that it had launched a related recall for a total of 170,000 vehicles in the wake of a fatal traffic accident involving a model equipped with Takada airbags.
The sprayer can basically be divided into
the following parts:
Gun, tip, Motor & Drive System, pump
assembly, filter, Pressure Control, auxiliary spray accessories.
Gun
• Acts as the on/off valve for the material Spray Tip
• Controls the amount of fluid sprayed by using different
orifice sizes
• Orifice shape determines the spray pattern.
• Many Graco tips can be turned to the reverse position by hand to
blow out clogs
Motor & Drive System
• A heavy duty system that drives the pump
Pump
• Also called the Fluid Section
• Delivers a steady stream of high pressure fluid through the hose to
the Spray Gun filter,
• Prevent large particles from entering and avoid clogging the spray gun
Pressure Control
• Used to regulate the fluid pressure delivered from the pump

Honda said that in July this year, a 2003 Honda Sidi equipped with Takada airbags had a car accident in Malaysia. The airbag burst in the accident and some of the debris broke into the car and hit the driver. The female driver died after being killed. Honda quoted the local police as saying that it is unclear whether the death was caused by a balloon explosion or other reasons.
To this end, Honda decided to expand the recall range related to Takada airbags, adding 170,000 new cars. These vehicles used airbags manufactured by Takada's plant in Georgia, USA, between November 2001 and November 2003.
Takada's defective airbags have been linked to many fatal traffic accidents in the United States. A total of four people were killed. The vehicles involved were manufactured by Honda, and the victims were hit by fragments after the airbag explosion.
