SCHOTTEL provides a new coating system for the rudder propeller
Schottel will provide a new coating system for its rudder propeller.
     According to the company, due to the optimized anti-corrosion function, the wear resistance of this new coating (purchased in the product warehouse) and the adhesion to the thicker paint layer are maximized. The base layer of the underwater portion of the propulsion unit (purchased by the product library) will be coated with a very hard two-component epoxy resin. Compared to traditional standard coatings, the new coatings have a 2.3-fold increase in wear resistance and an approximately 60% increase in adhesion. As for the upper surface of the propulsion unit, SCHOTTEL will use a very thick and very durable two-component polyurethane coating.
     SCHOTTEL is investing in this new coating, and in 2015, Schotter's new plant near the German company's headquarters has been put into production. The propulsion system (purchasing supply of the product library) is better able to protect the actual operation due to the optimization of the air mixing coating (purchasing supply) process and the ideal conditions for preparing the bottom layer.
